The ‘Full House’ reunion hits ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’

This may be Super Bowl weekend, but for a certain percentage of the population, anticipation may be higher about the prospect of seeing the “Full House” dads reunited again on screen in an ad for Dannon yogurt. But for those unable to wait until Sunday, Jimmy Fallon provided America with a quick hit of “Full House” goodness on Wednesday’s show.

Fallon kicked off the show with a little sketch in which he woke up from a nightmare induced by his anxiety about leaving “Late Night” for “The Tonight Show,” which he’s due to take over Feb. 17. And to make the moment something that people would talk about, he added the dads from “Full House,” Bob Saget, John Stamos and Dave Coulier.

Saget, Stamos and Coulier did their best to re-create the characters they played in the ABC sitcom that aired from 1987 to 1995. Coulier even showed up in an ugly early ‘90s-era sweater. Coulier also got to do his Popeye impression and brought out the beloved puppet sidekick Mr. Woodchuck.

“You’re going to be host of ‘The Tonight Show’ on NBC,” Saget reassured the anxious Fallon. “Honey, no one can ever take that away from you.”

“Well, maybe Jay Leno,” Stamos said. They’re referring, of course, to the notorious 2009 hand-off of the “Tonight Show” to Conan O’Brien that ended up reverting back to Leno after O’Brien’s ratings took a dive.

The three actors are suddenly everywhere these days. They also participated in a Reddit AMA Q&A and appeared on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

And then there’s that little Super Bowl spot.
