Good news for fans of the CW’s three freshmen series from the fall: All three — “The Originals,” “The Tomorrow People” and “Reign” — have been picked up for the entire season.

In a statement, CW’s president, Mark Pedowitz, said, “In just a few seasons, we have built a much stronger primetime schedule. Our on-air ratings are up year to year, and our digital viewing continues to grow exponentially.”

The CW’s total audience grew 9% over last season and saw a large increase in digital streaming viewership, with the three new series having 84% more digital streaming views than last seasons new shows.

The network has seen success by mining two popular avenues with young adults: superheroes and vampires.

“The Originals” spins out of the channel’s hit “The Vampire Diaries” and follows the adventures of vampire siblings in New Orleans. “The Tomorrow People” is a remake of a popular British series about superpowered young people and works as a companion to “Arrow,” the channel’s DC Comics superhero series.

Even “Reign,” the period drama about Mary, Queen of Scots’ early years, has creepy old Nostradamus around to make eerie predictions.

Next year will see the channel take a more sci-fi bent with its two midseason shows, “The 100,” about young people surviving a nuclear apocolypse in space, and “Star-Crossed,” which is “Romeo and Juliet” if Romeo was an alien.
