Strap on the feed bag
Ever get the feeling that the designer bag you just bought could have fed a third world country? The Mirror feels your pain and apparently so does Bush (model Lauren Bush, that is), who has designed a reversible tote bag with a price tag that will literally feed one child school lunch for an entire year.
Called the “FEED Bag,” the $59.95 muslin/burlap bag, which is being sold exclusively through Amazon.com starting today, bears the slogan “FEED the children of the world” on one side and the numeral 1 on the other, signifying that the proceeds of the purchase will provide one poor child a school lunch for one year.
Bush, who has served as an honorary spokesperson for the UN World Food Programme (WFP) for the last three years, created the bag to resemble the utilitarian sacks used to carry grain as part of the WFP’s operations in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
