New York Fashion Week spring-summer 2013: Michael Kors
NEW YORK --It was all about graphic glam on the runway when Michael Kors showed his spring-summer 2013 collection under the tents at Lincoln Center on Thursday.
The inspiration: Modern architecture. Clean lines.

The look: Geometric glamour. Sixties mod. Retro air hostesses. Bold shades of sunshine yellow, palm green, poppy red and sky blue, with black, white and navy. Graphic checks and stripes. Shift dresses in leather or crepe came with interesting zipper, placket and pocket details. Vertical stripe pleated skirts with horizontal stripe sweaters, digital cloud and swimming pool prints on satin trousers, shorts and dresses. Black crepe halter gowns with keyhole cutouts or harness bodices. Streamlined Lucite shoes with Velcro straps, goggle sunglasses, sculptural belts and handbags.
The scene: Everyone was there. This is one of the week’s marquee shows. Plus friends of Michael, including Rachel Zoe and Catherine Zeta Jones.
The verdict: A strong, wearable take on spring’s emerging trend for all things bold and graphic, also seen at Marc Jacobs and Tommy Hilfiger.
