Try Eric Greenspan’s ‘Next Iron Chef’ fish at the Foundry
Ever watched an episode of “Next Iron Chef” and thought, “I’d give anything for a little smellavison!”? This week, you can actually go a step further and taste a recipe from the show. Chef Eric “Greeny” Greenspan, a competitor on the current season, will serve his Secret Ingredient Showdown dish from Sunday night’s episode at his restaurant the Foundry on Melrose.
In one of the biggest upsets of the season, Greenspan was eliminated from the competition Sunday night.
The dish that did him in? Rice Krispies-crusted tuna, sunchokes, grapes, mushrooms and Raisin Bran puree. Breakfast cereal and tuna? Why not? It’s definitely a step up from Rice Krispies treats.
This week only, if you stop by the Foundry, you can order the Krispies-crusted fish for dinner ($27) or as an appetizer ($15). Taste the dish for yourself and let us know in the comments below whether you thought Greeny deserved to go home.
Next up for Greenspan is Greenspan’s Grilled Cheese, slated to open this month next to the Foundry.
The Foundry, 7465 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles, (323) 651-0915, www.thefoundryonmelrose.com.
