Craig Thornton’s Wolvesmouth dinners to surface

Los Angeles chef Craig Thornton’s underground supper club, Wolvesmouth, will soon be heading above-ground, according to an article in the Dec. 3 food issue of The New Yorker:

“At the beginning of September, Thornton found a place where he could re-create Wolvesmouth, undiluted but legitimate: open kitchen, communal seating for twenty-four, with room for a takeout counter,” reports New Yorker staff writer Dana Goodyear. “He plans to offer one seating a night, with eight to ten courses for a set price of a hundred and ten dollars, and to sell tickets in advance. Opening might be as soon as January.”

For the last two years Thornton has been hosting the secret supper club at a loft apartment in downtown Los Angeles. Goodyear’s article – an excellent read – deems Wolvesmouth underground dinners “the toughest reservation in town.”
