Harvard’s Science and Cooking lecture series returns

Scientist Mark Bernstein, the creator of the fantastically useful software program Tinderbox, alerted me to the fact that the public lecture series Science and Cooking, “a collaboration between eminent Harvard researchers and world-class chefs,” resumes at Harvard this month.

Returning lecturers include Ferran Adriá (El Bulli Foundation), David Chang (Momofuku), José Andrés (Minibar and Jaleo in Washington), and Wylie Dufresne (WD-50). Watch for Joan Roca and Jordi Roca (El Celler de Can Roca in Catalonia), White House pastry chef Bill Yosses and Joanne Chang (Flour Bakery in Boston), too.

The series was so popular last year that organizers have booked a larger hall for this year’s lectures. All are first-come first-seated, except for Adriá’s appearance, which is ticketed.

Ha! But if you can’t make it all the way to Cambridge, you can watch the series live streaming on Mondays at 7 p.m. Eastern. (The first lecture from Harold McGee was Tuesday.) Like the first series, videos will be available on iTunes and YouTube for the world (and avid cooks) to see.
