Cameron Silver launches his new ‘Decades’ book in France

PARIS -- The classic Parisian leather goods shop Moynat, which dates back to 1849 as a seller of travel trunks, celebrated the launch of Cameron Silver’s book, “Decades: A Century of Fashion.” Aside from France and the U.S., the book is now also available in the Netherlands, Italy and the United Kingdom.

The book begins with fashions of the 1900s and chronicles fashions through the centuries, ending with strip queen Dita Von Teese, who was among the guests of the evening party.

“Dita summarizes what ‘Decades’ is all about -- the 24/7 aspect of glamour,” said Silver, the author and owner of the vintage clothing boutique of the same name. “When else do you arrive at a house and are greeted by someone that wears not a housecoat, but something fabulous? She makes the world a more beautiful place, one dress at a time.”

Silver also said his reality television show about “the wonderful and wacky world of ‘Decades’” is about to begin on the Bravo network. He said he had already taped 12 episodes, but couldn’t reveal anything else because the Bravo would be making the official announcement Wednesday.

As guests made their book purchases, the newly silver-haired Silver signed his book with his silver pen.
