Cheesemongers cheese shop opening Wednesday in Sherman Oaks
Cheese lovers on the never-ending quest for piquant Asiagos, sprightly, pungent aged Goudas, luxuriously creamy triple cremes and charcoal-ripened Vendomes, will soon have a new shop to check out in Sherman Oaks.
The Cheesemongers shop is opening on Ventura Boulevard on Wednesday. Owners Chaz Christianson and Kia Burton plan to offer cut-to-order cheeses and cured meats.
Christianson is a classically trained chef who honed his charcuterie skills as an apprentice under Neal Fraser, and Kia worked at Cowgirl Creamery in San Francisco before working as an apprentice at Neal’s Yard Dairy in London.
“Our cheese counter is a place where tasting is central, history and education are celebrated, and buying a piece of cheese is so much more than just another item off your grocery list,” said Burton in a release.
The shop will also sell a selection of locally made crackers, jams, chocolates, oils and nuts.
