Free Sriracha factory tours now available

If you call yourself a Sriracha fan, here’s your chance to see the Sriracha holy grail. Huy Fong Foods, makers of the Sriracha sauce in the rooster-logo bottles is now offering free tours of its new 650,000-square-foot factory in Irwindale.

The Sriracha Cookbook blog by Randy Clemens posted a copy of an invitation letter it recently received from Huy Fong Foods. In the letter, the company explains that it is now ready for visitors after months of transitioning from the old factory in Rosemead and testing new equipment.

The letter also directly mentions visiting to see “how delicious it smells.”

If you’ve been following the company’s recent legal woes, which include a partial shutdown due to a chile odor complaint, you may have been wondering about the smell. The city of Irwindale called it a public nuisance. Now you can go into the factory, smell the chiles, and decide for yourself.

Tours are available between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday to Friday. Visitors must call customer service at (626) 286-8328 to schedule an appointment.
