They’ll be rockin’ in the SLO wine country this weekend
Coming up this weekend, SLO Wine Country’s Rockin’ Harvest Celebration. SLO, of course, stands for San Luis Obispo. That’s just up the coast and could be a day trip if you’re up for some driving (and bring along a designated driver).
Didn’t know about it before? No worries, this Central Coast harvest celebration is perfect for those who do not plan ahead.
The event kicks off on Friday, with a backstage look at three San Luis Obispo wineries. For $50, “Rockin’ Road Trip” takes you through the winemaking protocols at Laetitia Vineyard & Winery, Talley Vineyards and Saucelito Canyon Vineyard & Winery. Lunch and wine tasting included.
Later that night, Casitas Estate in Arroyo Grande will host a five-course dinner with wines from five nearby wineries. The tickets are $110 per person—and of course include wine and the chance to rub shoulders with local winemakers.
The Grand Tasting and Auction is on Saturday afternoon at Avila Beach Golf Resort, always a lively event. An $85 ticket buys you food, wine and entertainment, plus entry to local wineries’ open houses on Sunday. That’s the one to go for, if you’re signing up for just one event.
For more information about the festival, visit www.slowine.com/events/harvest-celebration.php.
And if you book your hotel in Avila Beach, you can get $20 off a Grand Tasting ticket. To find out how, call the SLO Wine Country office at (805) 541-5868 or email info@slowine.com.
