Let the professionals cook your feast. Thanksgiving 2014 dining guide

Thanksgiving is two weeks away already, meaning it’s time to order your turkey if you haven’t already and plan your cooking schedule already — or you can make reservations to let a restaurant kitchen do all that for you.

Los Angeles has myriad restaurants that will help you out, offering Thanksgiving dinners that run the gamut from homey and traditional to upscale and creative. You can let a professional kitchen worry about the bird, or forgo the turkey altogether and see what the chef comes up with instead.

Either way, it’s high time to make reservations. Here are some of the menus at area restaurants, with details on pricing and times. And yes, we’ll be updating this list, so check back — or, if you’ve got a restaurant somewhere and we’ve missed it, let us know. And if you’re planning on getting your feast to-go rather than dining in, we’ll have a list of those options too.

Here’s a list of Thanksgiving Day dinners:

Barton G

For Thanksgiving, Barton G will be offering a traditional three-course prix-fixe feast, including: herb-roasted turkey breast with confit leg; apricot and sage stuffing; parsnip and potato mash; spiced pumpkin soup with maple creme fraiche; candied yams; pumpkin doughnuts with cranberry compote and pumpkin butter. Beelman’s Pub

Beelman’s is hosting a family-style holiday feast, including fried Louisiana-style turkey wings; braised Brussels sprouts with chestnuts and pancetta; braised purple cabbage with apples and raisins; cornbread stuffing; cranberry chutney; pecan pie. The dinner includes hors d’oeuvres, mulled wine and Champagne and a full buffet. Make reservations through Eventbrite. Bouchon

Starting at noon on Thanksgiving, Bouchon Bistro will serve a classic Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings, including sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, roasted pumpkin soup, and more. Commissary

Roy Choi’s latest restaurant, Commissary, will be offering an unlimited vegetarian buffet and desserts for its Native Spirit Feast, from 3 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 27. Dishes featured: fry bread, roasted corn chowder, forbidden rice salad, quinoa salad, pickled beets and goat cheese, tamales, pumpkin gumbo and more. Craft

For Thanksgiving, Craft is hosting a three-course, prix-fixe dinner served family-style from 2 to 8 p.m. Chef de cuisine Ray England’s dishes include: organic free-range turkey, Brussels sprouts and pomegranates, chestnut agnolotti, and sausage and raisin stuffing. For dessert, try pastry chef Shannon Swindle’s butternut tart and pecan semifreddo. The Culver Hotel

Dine on a buffet full of traditional holiday favorites in the Culver Hotel’s dining room, including: maple-glazed ham, slow-roasted turkey, peppercorn-crusted prime rib and many classic sides, including caramelized onion and apple stuffing, mashed potatoes, braised greens, radicchio and arugula salad with dates and hazelnuts, cranberry relish -- and a traditional dessert station. There will be live music in the Grand Lobby beginning at 7:30 p.m. and cocktails available at the bar. Esterel at the Sofitel Hotel is serving a three-course, prix-fixe menu, including a choice of: roasted butternut squash soup, fennel goat cheese salad, free-range roasted turkey (carved tableside), porcini agnolotti, pumpkin chai cheesecake brulee, Valrhona chocolate cremeux with maple syrup ice cream and candied pecans. Dinner is $65 per person for adults and $40 for children age 6-12. Daily Grill

The LAX and Burbank locations of the Daily Grill will have a special Thanksgiving menu offering a prix-fixe three-course dinner for $39.75. Featured dishes include: butternut squash soup and mixed field greens; a choice of herb-roasted turkey with all the sides, mahi mahi with brown rice and grilled skirt steak with mac and cheese; and for dessert, a choice of apple pie or pumpkin cobbler. Kids 11 and younger can order a turkey dinner with the trimmings and a hot fudge sundae for $14.75. 2500 N. Fuego

For diners in Long Beach, Fuego at Hotel Maya is offering a feast that includes: roasted butternut bisque with creamy corn and candied walnuts; roasted turkey with giblet gravy, roasted Brussels sprouts, corn bread stuffing, piloncillo cinnamon glazed yams and Yukon mashed potatoes; potato lasagna with cauliflower and red pepper coriander sauce; Bourbon pecan chocolate torte. The Hungry Cat

The Hungry Cats in Hollywood and Santa Monica will be deep-frying Thanksgiving this year, with deep-fried turkey and gravy as the highlight of the feast. As this is chef-owner David Lentz’s seafood restaurant, there will also be a raw bar and lots of great cocktails, including Big Dave’s Egg Nog. Among the dishes: roasted persimmons with candied walnuts, chorizo and oyster stuffing, Brussels sprouts with wild mushroom and pancetta, and spiced cranberry sauce and a Thanksgiving dessert and full bar. If you’re a vegetarian, there’s ricotta gnocchi with chanterelle. $65 per guest; $32.50 children 10 and younger; no charge for children younger than 2. 1535 N. The popular Italian restaurant is switching from pasta to turkey, with a three-course, prix-fixe traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Although if you don’t want turkey, choose between beef and fish options. Melisse

If you want to get a little fancier, try Josiah Citrin’s Thanksgiving menu. Among the dishes you can choose from: Maine lobster ravioli with an optional white truffle supplement; big eye tuna tartare with avocado and yuzu; pumpkin soup with chestnut and celeriac; herb-roasted free range turkey with Chanterelle mushrooms, apple and brioche stuffing and pomegranate gravy; whole roasted dry-aged prime rib with potato puff and horseradish jus. In addition, there will be many of Citrin’s mother’s traditional Thanksgiving side dishes and desserts. Mr. C Beverly Hills

Dinner choices for Mr. C’s prix-fixe Thanksgiving dinner include butternut squash ravioli with brown butter and crispy fried sage; roasted turkey with Napa Valley chardonnay gravy; amaretto duchess sweet potatoes; and pumpkin pie. Prices run $85 per person, with an additional $35 for wine pairings. Papilles

For its three-course, prix-fixe Thanksgiving dinner, dishes include Tahitian squash veloute with chive creme fraiche; Arctic char with celery root, sweet potato and black truffle vinaigrette; heritage turkey with wild mushroom stuffing; confit Weiser potatoes; chocolate hazelnut crisp; pumpkin pie. Patina

Joachim Splichal’s flagship restaurant will be offering three- and four-course menus on Thanksgiving. Menu highlights include Bay scallops with potato gnocchi, pumpkin puree, bacon lardon, cauliflower floret, and Parmesan emulsion; black cod with sweet potato fondant, haricot vert and carrot ginger sauce; roasted and confit turkey with chestnut stuffing, autumn vegetables and sauce verjus; and pumpkin chiffon with treacle bavarois, and pepita croquant. Patina will also have a Thanksgiving children’s menu. The Pikey

At the Pikey, chef Ralph Johnson will be offering a choice of roasted organic free range turkey breast or confit turkey legs and wings served with beet stuffing, green bean puree, roasted potatoes, cranberry sauce and biscuits with turkey neck gravy. Couples may opt for the Thanksgiving feast for two, featuring a whole turkey leg confit and deep-fried with all of the trimmings. Additionally, the Pikey’s mac and cheese or baked sweet potatoes with crispy sage and hazelnut praline are available a la carte, along with pumpkin pie with spiced cream. The Raymond 1886

From noon to 9 p.m., the Standard will be serving a holiday feast including butternut squash and apple soup with pancetta; herb-roasted turkey with shallot gravy; Swiss chard and leek gratin; brown butter mashed potatoes; apple and chestnut bread pudding; salty caramel pot de creme with whipped maple cream; bourbon pumpkin pie with pecan streusel. Tavern

This Thanksgiving, Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne are putting together a feast including persimmon and pomegranate salad with arugula and walnuts; a choice of herb-roasted organic turkey breast with stuffed leg served with all the trimmings or a vegan feast of sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, fingerling potatoes, stuffing and wild mushroom persillade. For dessert: a choice of pumpkin pie with brown sugar whipped cream or a candied pecan tart served with vanilla ice cream.
