Where to find vending machines stocked with cocktail kits and Alfred coffee

When you’re staring down a vending machine, wielding a handful of quarters, the choices before you are often junk food. But in certain pockets of Los Angeles, that gleaming snack box could be full of hot, melty burritos, Sprinkles cupcakes or even caviar.

And now, a new line of gourmet vending machines has popped up at Westfield Century City.

The machines are called Gift Boxes, and they are full of exclusive merchandise from neighborhood coffee shops Alfred Coffee, made-in-L.A. design company Poketo and photographer Gray Malin.

From Alfred Coffee, coffee drinks and swag ($10 to $24). You can find Poketo notebooks and accessories ($6 to $60). A machine is stocked with Gray Malin graphic iPhone cases. And you can also find cocktail kits ($24 to $49) that include everything you need to make a signature cocktail -- you just supply the alcohol.

There are also golden tickets attached to random products, good for prizes such as a Gray Malin print, a brunch and studio tour of Poketo and a one-year supply of Alfred Coffee coffee.
