Your local chocolate Easter bunny at Jin Patisserie
Chocolate Easter rabbits abound, but a handmade bunny from a gifted local chocolate maker is special.
Like the whimsical egg-shaped Easter bunny, hand-molded and painted, from Kristy Choo’s Jin Patisserie. Sous pastry chef Annabel Ho created the chocolate rabbits. Made with 74% dark chocolate, they’re about 9 inches tall and each is different from another.
The egg-shaped body and the eyes are made with molds, and the rest is hand-cut chocolate, Ho says.
Each is painted or spray-painted with colored cocoa butter. Ho says it takes her a few hours to make half a dozen.
They cost $39 each; available through Easter while supplies last. The patisserie, formerly located in Venice, now operates from a commercial kitchen in Culver City. Call to pick up an order.
