Recipe: Quick strawberry sauce
Total time: 10 minutes
Servings: 8 (1 cup)
1/2 pound strawberries, rinsed
and hulled
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon orange
juice
1. Place the strawberries, sugar and orange juice in the work bowl of a food processor and pulse 4 or 5 times just to chop them small. Don’t puree.
2. Transfer the mixture into a small nonstick skillet and cook over medium-high heat until it begins to thicken, about 5 minutes. Set aside until ready to use.
Each serving: 34 calories; 0 sodium; 0 cholesterol; 0 fat; 0 saturated fat; 8 grams carbohydrates; 0 protein; 0.65 gram fiber.
