2014 spring garden tours scheduled for April and May
Spring is the season for garden tours, and Southern California has an abundance of them. Here is a selection of 2014 spring tours to mark on your calendar. Be sure to check organizers’ websites for more information and updates because some events sell out. Most are rain-or-shine.
April 5-6: More than 40 gardens in the Los Angeles region are featured in the annual self-guided tour organized by the Theodore Payne Foundation for Wildflowers and Native Plants. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Members $15, nonmembers $20. (818) 768-1802; www.theodorepayne.org.

April 26-27: The Floral Park Home and Garden Tour will highlight six homes and two gardens in the neighborhood north of Santa Ana. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. $25 in advance; $30 on the day of the tour. (714) 648-0904; www.floralpark.com.

April 27: South Pasadena Beautiful hosts a tour of seven sustainable gardens located south of Huntington Drive and between Fletcher and Fremont Avenues. 1 to 4 p.m. Plant swap at 2040 La France. Free. www.southpasbeautiful.org.
April 27: Homes in Pasadena, South Pasadena and San Marino will be featured in the Garden Conservancy Open Days self-guided tour. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Maps and discounted tickets available at Arlington Garden, 275 Arlington Drive, Pasadena, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. $7 per garden or $35 for six tickets. May 3: The annual self-guided Venice Garden & Home Tour will feature 30 gardens and homes on the walk streets east of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and adjacent to the Venice boardwalk. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. $60 in advance, $70 day of event.
