Gun death at Newhall firing range is an apparent suicide, police say
One person died of a self-inflicted gunshot Friday night at a Newhall firing range, said Lt. James Duran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Few details were available about the shooting, which was reported at 8:47 p.m. at the Oaktree Gun Club on Coltrane Avenue, Duran said.
“All I can tell you is it was a male and it appears to be a suicide,” he said.
No one else was injured, Duran said.
The victim died at the scene. His name was not released.
