Robert J. Palermini Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer |
Bob Palermini is senior vice president and chief technology officer of the Los Angeles Times, where he is responsible for technology strategy, development and operations. He also is responsible for the advertising operations, facilities departments and the newspaper’s Project Management Office. He joined the Times in 2000.
Prior to joining The Times, Palermini held leadership positions in Tribune Co. and Shaw Newspapers. He led the development of technology strategy for Tribune Publishing Co. and was responsible for the implementation of new content creation and production systems at the company’s newspapers. He also worked with Tribune’s broadcasting and Internet groups to develop capabilities to share multimedia content.
Previously he led the technology and prepress departments at the Sun-Sentinel in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and the Daily Press in Newport News, Va.; both are Tribune Co. newspapers.
Prior to joining Tribune, Palermini held increasingly senior positions at Shaw Newspapers, including production director, general manager, publisher and corporate CIO. He began his career as an award-winning photojournalist and editor after studying photojournalism at Northern Illinois University.
Palermini currently serves as a trustee of the California Science Center Foundation, was a member of the Los Angeles United Way 2006-07 Campaign Cabinet, and is a past board member of the Los Angeles Urban League.
