Brandi Jones-Fitzgerald led Canyon Springs (3-1) with 22 points. The game was called with five minutes remaining due to a back injury to Jones-Fitzgerald. Jones-Fitzgerald was taken to the hospital. The extent of her injury was not known, but she was able to move her extremities. Bishop Montgomery is 2-2.

Ayala outscored Don Lugo, 15-2, in the fourth quarter, sparked by senior point guard Samantha Cardeno’s three three-pointers. Ayala made a total of nine three-pointers, including a team-high four by Cardeno. Freshman Rebeckah Gardener led Ayala (2-1) with 19 points. Latara Darrett led Don Lugo (1-2), ranked No. 25 by The Times, with 20 points.

Sanders was selected all-tournament along with teammate Andreanna Marshall, who had 14 points and seven rebounds in the championship game.

Senior guard Sanar Kahwedjian hit a free throw for a 34-31 Hillcrest Christian lead with 12 seconds remaining. Leah Kolbech scored a layup at the buzzer for Santa Paula (0-4). Kolbech was the game’s high scorer with 18 points.
Sophomore guard Brittany Hampton led Hillcrest Christian (1-3) with 10 points.
Hillcrest led 18-13 at halftime but trailed 25-22 at the end of the third quarter. Jackie Habashy was four-for-four from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter for Hillcrest Christian.

Baskets by Ashley Sutton on consecutive possessions pulled Aliso Niguel to within 28-27, and Katelyn Holley completed the comeback by also scoring on consecutive possessions -- and stealing the ball on defense in between -- in the final minute.
Holley’s 12-foot jumper with a minute left gave Aliso Niguel the lead, and after stealing the ball on Mission Viejo’s next possession, she finished a give-and-go with Meaghan Curran with a lay-up in the final seconds.

Viewpoint (0-1) closed to within a bucket on its next possession and then had a chance to tie or win it on the game’s final possession, but missed a 24-footer at the buzzer as the Patriots were unable to come back from an eight-point, fourth-quarter deficit in a game at Villanova Prep (1-1).
