China behavior: In the May 1 Section A, an article about a dispute between some mainland Chinese and Hong Kong residents stemming from a toddler’s defecating on a Hong Kong sidewalk stated that the Communist Party’s official People’s Daily had denounced Hong Kong protesters. The publication was the Global Times.
Auto emissions: In the April 26 Business section, an article about the fuel economy and greenhouse gas emissions of cars and light trucks in the 2012 model year referred to Dan Becker, director of the Safe Climate Campaign, as a former environmental advisor to President Clinton. Becker served on a presidential commission on motor vehicle greenhouse gas emissions but not on Clinton’s staff.
