Supervisor candidates: In the June 11 California section, an article about endorsements given to two candidates for L.A. County supervisor omitted one contender in the field running to succeed Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich. He is Glendale City Councilman Ara Najarian, a Republican.
Graduation costs: In the June 8 California section, an article about the costs associated with high school graduation events said that the expenses at North Hollywood High included a $450 package for a cap and gown, prom ticket, senior class panorama picture, yearbook, letterman jacket and other items. The $450 expenses included a $300 package for cap and gown, graduation stole, diploma cover, tassel picture frame, key chain, senior panorama picture, yearbook and prom ticket, plus additional costs for a letterman jacket and extra picture frames. Students are not required to purchase a cap and gown.
Guns on campus: In the June 10 Section A, an article about a handful of states now allowing concealed weapons at public universities and colleges said the Virginia Tech shooting took place in 2008. The year was 2007.
Bull statue: In the June 11 Section A, an article about a controversy over a bull statue atop a sign for a bar and restaurant in Hurricane, Utah, referred to the town as a way station for hikers headed to Mt. Zion National Park. The park is Zion National Park.
‘Dog Days’ opera: In the June 11 Calendar section, an item in the Weekend Picks about L.A. Opera’s production of “Dog Days” at REDCAT listed the ticket price as $169. The price is $69.
