Earthquake: 4.1 quake strikes near Caliente, Nev.
A shallow magnitude 4.1-magnitude earthquake was reported Tuesday afternoon 24 miles from Caliente, Nev., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 5:30 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 5 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 38 miles from Saint George, Utah, 38 miles from Mesquite, Nev., 41 miles from Washington, Utah and 265 miles from Salt Lake City.
In the last 10 days, there have been two earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
