1 killed, 3 injured in Pasadena crash involving private ambulance
One man was killed and three other people injured Saturday following a crash involving a private ambulance and a Jaguar sedan in Pasadena, authorities said.
The two vehicles collided around 4 p.m. in the 1000 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, just south of Hammond Street, said Pasadena police Lt. Jesse Carrillo. At the time of the accident, the ambulance had been transporting a man in his 70s for “what appeared to be a non-life-threatening medical appointment,” he said.
The man was transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Carrillo said.
The ambulance driver and his co-worker were taken to local hospitals in stable condition. The driver of the sedan, identified as a woman in her 60s, was taken to a hospital and may have sustained a fractured foot, Carrillo said.
Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the accident.
