Autopsy set in case of man’s body found in Brea trash can
The Orange County coroner has identified the person whose body was discovered in a roadside trash can in Brea.
Police said the body of Jose Ramiro Baez Paredes, 46, of Santa Ana, was found Friday by a motorist driving on Brea Canyon Road. The container on the side of the road next to a wooded area.
The driver “saw what appeared to be human hands” and immediately called the police, said Brea police Lt. Santo Porto.
The driver had seen the trash can every day for about a week before deciding to stop and look inside, said Sgt. Jim Griffin.
The case is being treated as a homicide. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday afternoon, Griffin said.
