Ex-porn star Jenna Jameson won’t be charged with battery
Orange County prosecutors won’t file criminal charges against former porn star Jenna Jameson following her arrest in Newport Beach over the weekend.
Jameson was arrested Saturday on the Balboa Peninsula on suspicion of battery after someone complained to police that they had been attacked by the former porn star.
The onetime “queen of porn” was later released on her own recognizance and given a preliminary court date for a hearing on the misdemeanor battery charge, said Lt. Evan Sailor of the Newport Beach Police Department.
But on Thursday, prosecutors said they have decided not to file charges against Jameson, whose real name in Jenna Marie Massoli.
“We have declined to file due to insufficent evidence to prove a case beyond a reasonable doubt,” said Farrah Emami, a spokeswoman for the Orange County district attorney’s office.
Jameson, who lives in Newport Beach, took to Twitter after her arrest, giving a different set of events. She claimed that a friend had broken into her house and robbed her.
It was the second arrest in less than a year for Jameson. In May, she was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after her Range Rover struck a light pole in Westminster.
In that incident, Jameson was charged with three misdemeanor counts, including driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, having a blood-alcohol level over the state legal limit and driving on a suspended license.
