L.A. rain to clear out Friday afternoon; warming trend on tap
Rain showers moving across the Southland on Friday are expected to clear out later in the day, with clear skies in the forecast for this weekend.
“After this afternoon, the showers should be done,” said Scott Sukup, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard.
A high surf advisory was in effect for Los Angeles County beaches through 5 p.m., with waves of 5 to 7 feet expected in most areas, although some could reach 9 feet, the weather service said.
After the storm system moves out, Sukup said temperatures should also start to rise.
“It should warm up into this weekend,” he said.
In Los Angeles, the daytime high is expected to be 72 degrees. On Saturday, the high is expected to be 77, and climb to 79 on Sunday.
In Long Beach, Friday’s high will reach 71 degrees, and then jump to 78 on Saturday, according to the weather service. On Sunday, temperatures should hit 81, Sukup said.
In Burbank, the daytime high is expected to be 72 degrees on Friday, 77 on Saturday and 81 on Sunday.
