1 arrested, 3 sought in alleged kidnapping and robbery in Norwalk
Two men allegedly bound another man and stole his vehicle early Thursday after the victim voluntarily followed two women to a Norwalk residence, the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department said.
The victim, who had met the women earlier Thursday morning in Walnut Park, called the Norwalk sheriff’s station just before 4 a.m. to report the incident, authorities said.
He said he had driven to the 15400 block of Longworth Avenue, where he was confronted by two males, according to a sheriff’s news release. It was unclear why the victim went to the Norwalk residence or who the women were that he had followed.
The men asked for his personal property and restrained him. One of the suspects had a handgun, the sheriff’s department said.
When he was released, the victim was told his vehicle had been moved to a nearby location. The victim went there but did not find his car, authorities said.
When deputies went to the Norwalk home they arrested one of four people there on suspicion of kidnapping, false imprisonment, robbery and a weapons charged.
The victim’s vehicle was found in Long Beach. Detectives continued to search for the remaining three suspects, including the two women the victim allegedly followed.
