Disneyland employee tried to trade tickets for sex, prosecutors say
A 27-year-old man was charged Monday with trying to trade Disneyland tickets for sex with an underage girl, authorities said.
On Craigslist, Darreck Michael Enciso posted an ad offering theme park tickets paid for with sex acts, according to the Orange County district attorney’s office.
Prosecutors say he set up a rendezvous point with a person he thought was a 14-year-old girl but was actually a Huntington Beach police officer.
Enciso was arrested Thursday after he brought condoms and the tickets to a rendezvous point on Beach Boulevard in Huntington Beach, prosecutors said.
Enciso has worked as a dishwasher at a Disney-owned hotel for about a year and had no contact with hotel or park guests, Disneyland Resort spokeswoman Suzi Brown said.
After the company learned of Enciso’s arrest, he was “immediately relieved of his duties as a dishwasher,” Brown said.
He faces three felony counts: attempted lewd act upon a child, communicating with a child with the intent to commit a sex crime, and meeting a minor in order to engage in lewd conduct.
If convicted, Enciso faces up to four years, eight months in state prison. He remains jailed in lieu of $100,000 bond, according to jail records.
Investigators believe Enciso previously posted similar advertisements on Craigslist. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Supervising Dist. Atty. Investigator Mark Gutierrez at (714) 347-8794.
