Man getting out of his car is killed in South L.A. hit-and-run
Los Angeles police traffic detectives are searching for a male driver involved in multiple hit-and-run accidents that left a 19-year-old man dead in South Los Angeles.
Coroner officials identified the victim as Jerry Arredondo Jr. of Los Angeles.
The fatal vehicle collision occurred Tuesday about 7:30 p.m. near 105th Street and Wadsworth Avenue, according to LAPD Officer Bruce Borihahn.
The male driver of a 2013 Chevy Camaro was traveling east on 105th Street at a high rate of speed when his car struck and killed Arredondo, who was exiting his parked car on the same street, Borihahn said.
After striking the vehicle, the driver continued heading east on 105thStreet, striking several vehicles, before he and a passenger eventually exited the vehicle and fled on foot, Borihahn added.
The suspect was last seen getting into a silver BMW 5 series model, Borihahn said.
