A 14-year-old Oakland boy allegedly shot and killed his 17-year-old sister after an argument over laundry in the family’s apartment, according to Bay Area media reports.

The family of Justice Toliver, the mother of a 2-year-old girl, pleaded for her teenage brother to turn himself in after police said they suspected that he was connected to the slaying, The Oakland Tribune reported.

The family lived in the apartment in the 800 block of Franklin Street in Oakland’s Chinatown neighborhood.

Grandmother Wanda Brown told The Tribune that the two siblings were “like two peas in a pod.”

“I love him, no love is lost,” Brown said. “I know he’s hurt right now, and I know they were bickering. But they were like two peas in a pod.”

The two were arguing over laundry, according to KRON Channel 4.

Brown said another grandparent was at the apartment at the time of the shooting. Police had not released a motive for the slaying. It was Oakland’s eight homicide of 2014.
