Mission Viejo man faces 120 years for child molestation
A Mission Viejo man has been convicted of molesting three girls between the ages of 9 and 11 who visited his home to play with a relative, prosecutors said.
Omar Alirio Guzman, 46, was found guilty Tuesday of eight felony counts of lewd acts upon a child under 14, according to a statement from the Orange County district attorney’s office.
Guzman, who is set to be sentenced in October, faces a maximum penalty of 120 years to life in prison and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors said he sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl several times between February 2009 and December 2010. On multiple occasions between May 2009 and December 2010, prosecutors said he also touched a 9-year-old girl’s chest over her clothes. In August 2010, prosecutors said he also touched an 11-year-old girl’s chest and buttocks over her clothing while she was at Guzman’s home for a sleepover.
The 10-year-old girl told her mother about the sexual assault, who then alerted authorities.
Guzman was linked to the two other girls through the ensuing investigation, prosecutors said.
