One killed, another injured as car hits power pole in Lancaster
One man died at the scene early Sunday and another was hospitalized with critical injuries after their car slammed into a power pole in Lancaster, sheriff’s officials said.
The car was heading west on East Avenue I at 35th Street East shortly after 1:30 a.m. when it veered off the road and hit the pole, said Sgt. Kevin Turrill of the Lancaster sheriff’s station.
“The driver lost control,” Turrill said.
Paramedics pronounced the driver dead and his passenger was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital, the sergeant said.
The names of the two men and other details were not immediately available.
