2 killed in small plane crash near Napa County’s Lake Berryessa
Two people were killed Monday morning when their small plane crashed near Lake Berryessa in Napa County, according to authorities.
The single-engine Icon A5 aircraft crashed under unknown circumstances, according to Ian Gregor, a spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration.
The bodies of those aboard the plane were later recovered, said Capt. Keith Behlmer, a spokesman for the Napa County Sheriff’s Office.
According to Gregor, a 911 caller reported the crash about 9 a.m., but firefighters initially had trouble locating the crash site near Napa County’s largest lake.
The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.
