Man shoots stripper, kills himself after lap dance, police say
A man who was spurned by a stripper during a private lap dance at a Rialto club shot the woman and then turned his high-powered semiautomatic handgun on himself, police said Thursday.
The 46-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene at the Spearmint Rhino Gentlemen’s Club and the woman was in stable condition, the Rialto Police Department said. She was shot in the head.
The shooting occurred in a private lap dance room at the club Monday shortly before 7:30 p.m., Capt. Randy De Anda said.
The suspected shooter had just received a lap dance and “made some advances toward the dancer, which were declined,” De Anda told The Times.
“She basically rejected them,” he said.
The woman was in her 20s. Neither her name nor the man’s was released.
De Anda said the man had been a regular visitor at the club since January.
