Thanksgiving forecast: Cold and wet as new storm blows into L.A.
The L.A. region won’t have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving when it comes to mild weather.
Meteorologists predict cold, wet weather in Los Angeles County starting Thursday before letting up for the weekend.
“Thursday, Friday are the wet days. Wet and cloudy,” said meteorologist Kathy Hoxsie of the National Weather Service in Oxnard.
There’s a 40%-to-50% chance of rain on Thursday and Friday, but the storm isn’t expected to produce much, with just 1/10th of an inch to a half-inch in the forecast.
“We think that most people are going to get some rain, but it’s not looking like it’s going to be off and on all day and not as heavy of rain,” Hoxsie said.
Temperatures will probably be in the low-to-mid 60s.
“Even if we don’t get much rain, it’s going to be cloudy and you get that cold air mass,” Hoxsie said.
But when the system moves out at week’s end, “we should have clearing skies and warming temperatures,” she added.
