Westminster man sought in brutal attack on wife
The search continued Friday for a man accused of brutally beating his wife and leaving her handcuffed and unconscious in a bathroom, Westminster police said.
Police responded to reports of a domestic dispute at a home in the 13000 block of Iowa Street in Westminster on Jan. 24.
When they arrived, they found a 32-year-old woman handcuffed and unconscious in the bathroom, officials said.
Now, they’re searching for her husband, Rodolfo “Rudy” Cisneros, 37, of Westminster.
“Cisneros is believed to have dragged the victim into the shower and beat her, causing her to suffer severe facial injuries,” according to the statement. “The victim was taken to a local hospital with numerous injuries and will require reconstructive surgery as a result of the assault.”
The suspect took off and jumped over a back wall before officers arrived, according to the police department.
Investigators learned that Cisneros argued with his wife while their four children were also at the home, police said. He then attacked her and assaulted their 13-year-old daughter, authorities said.
The girl was able to escape and run to a neighbor’s house and alert the police.
“We believe that this brave little girl saved her mom. If she hadn’t notified a neighbor it appears that Cisneros was going to continue beating her,” Westminster police Sgt. Richard Mize said.
Investigators obtained a warrant for Cisneros’ arrest on suspicion of attempted murder, torture, mayhem and a number of other felony crimes, officials said. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
Cisneros is described as Latino, standing 5 foot 5, weighing 130 pounds, and having short brown hair.
Anyone with information on Cisneros’ whereabouts is asked to contact the Westminster Police Department at (714) 898-3315 or Crime Stoppers at (855) TIP-OCCS.
