Train derailment leads to evacuations in San Bernardino
Thirteen tanker cars derailed in San Bernardino Tuesday morning, prompting authorities to evacuate surrounding buildings.
The San Bernardino Police Department wrote on Twitter that authorities are evacuating the buildings around Cajon Boulevard and Devore Road as a precaution.
“There is no immediate threat to the area, this is for safety only at this point,” the department wrote.
Fire officials said at least two of the tankers are leaking. It is not clear if anyone was injured.
