Reader Photo: A birthday with butterflies
Catherine Lacey Dodd’s son Reuben has been a longtime lover of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. So it was no surprise to her when he chose to celebrate his 7th birthday at the museum’s Butterfly Pavilion.
The interactive display, which showcases hundreds of butterflies and allows people to witness the creatures’ life cycles firsthand, is a “treasure trove for macro photographers,” said Dodd. “This image just made my heart soar!”
Dodd captured the moment with her Canon 5D Mark III and Canon 100/2.8 macro lens.
