Reader Photo: At the edge
Though Greg Vorobiov now calls Los Angeles home, he enjoys traveling back to his native San Francisco whenever possible to make images. He captured this photo of a hang glider at Fort Funston in the city’s southwestern corner.
He wrote: “It was late afternoon and the cold salty wind was gusting and hollering as a lone hang glider steadied himself for a launch.
“Quickly, I rushed directly behind him just as he ran towards the cliff edge with the glider wings level to the ocean’s horizon and one foot still touching the earth.
“And with a single leap of faith, he was greeted and lifted by the screaming winds, gone and free, leaving terra firma.”
Vorobiov made this image using an iPhone 6 on July 12.
