Reader Photo: Feeding time at the Whittier Narrows Nature Center
Lou Orr photographed a black-chinned hummingbird feeding its chicks at the Whittier Narrows Nature Center in South El Monte.
Orr, a volunteer at the nature center, had been watching the nest for four weeks, checking in on the hummingbirds every few days.
