Gary Ferguson’s wife, Jane, once told him that she would want her ashes scattered in the five places in the West most memorable to them. For the final journey to fulfill her wish, he decided to walk from his home in Red Lodge, Mont., to the Lamar Valley in Yellowstone National Park.
