Pam Dawber, Robin Williams reunion: Don’t expect Mork or Mindy
Pam Dawber will make a guest appearance on Robin Williams’ CBS comedy “The Crazy Ones.” Williams recently said he’d never go back to Mork, but he didn’t rule out Mindy.
The 50ish crowd grew up with “Mork & Mindy,” which aired from 1978 to ’82 and included, in later episodes, Jonathan Winters as their son, Mearth.
The episode, set to air in spring, includes some romance for Dawber and Williams, both 62, according to TV Guide. Dawber will play a travel book author whom Williams’ character, an ad agency executive, falls for. Dawber, married to “NCIS” star Mark Harmon, hasn’t made a TV appearance since 1999.
Williams was on Reddit in September answering questions from fans. He said he wouldn’t ever play Mork again.
Mork “had a great run and I had a wonderful time doing it,” he wrote. But “it’s too late for that.”
Meantime, a new ad is stirring up more TV-sitcom nostalgia as the “Full House” men have reunited for a commercial set to air during the upcoming Super Bowl. Watch the teaser for the ad starring John Stamos, Dave Coulier and Bob Saget.
And for old time’s sake, here’s Mork, Mindy and Mearth in a Season 4 episode, “Alienation.”
