‘Liquid explosives’ fears force plane back to Philadelphia
A tip about liquid explosives has forced a US Airways flight headed to Dallas to return to Philadelphia.
FBI spokesman Frank Burton told the Associated Press that US Airways Flight 1267 was already in the air when it was diverted back to Philadelphia International Airport following an anonymous tip.
There were no injuries reported.
Philly.com had local TV footage that showed people being escorted off the plane, and a handcuffed man in a state police car.
The online news outlet also reported footage of a man kneeling on the ground as a law-enforcement dog circled him, seeming to sniff around the individual.
Airport spokeswoman Victoria Lupica told the Associated Press that 98 passengers were on board the plane. She added other flights are proceeding as normal, according to the news service.
