Letters: Going to the mat for rich taxpayers
Re “GOP proposal aims at safety net,” Dec. 4
Is there a politician or journalist who has the moxie to ask Republicans why they consider tax cuts for the rich so sacred? Could it be because the wealthy have funded their campaigns and now the politicians owe them?
If these people are really the job creators, how about a plan that offers a tax incentive for each new American job these people actually create instead of cuts in their tax rates?
And how about cuts in military expenditures? I’m not advocating a decrease in our readiness; I’m just asking if we really need more warplanes and other big-ticket weapons than we have now.
