Newsletter: In the kitchen: Your favorite recipes
Happy February, fellow cooks. Can you believe we’ve already made it through January? (Or that you survived the annual food coma brought on by the Super Bowl?) I don’t know about you, but I’ve switched to lighter fare in the kitchen to make up for last weekend’s indulgences.
On the recipe front, it looks we’ve been craving comfort food, at least as far as our most popular recipes are concerned. Beef daube, spaghetti and meatballs, waffles, and oregano chicken are four of our top 10 recipes for the month. We’ve also been compiling lists of favorite recipes based on what you’ve been searching for: cheesecake and other vegan dessert recipes, gluten-free pasta recipes and dessert ideas. And with the cold and rainy weather we’ve been having, how about a list of favorite chowder, cioppino and other fish stew recipes? I think I see a bowl of 15-minute miso soup with Manila clams in my future.
OUR TOP RECIPES FOR JANUARY 2017
So what are your favorite recipes so far this year? Proof’s chocolate espresso layer cake, Danny Trejo’s cauliflower tacos, Anthony Bourdain’s lasagna and Jackie Kennedy’s waffles are just four of our top 10 recipes for this January. You can check out the entire list here.
WHAT TO DO WITH ALL THOSE RADISHES
The edible roots of the mustard family, radishes come in a variety of shapes and colors, and are normally in season from late winter through spring. Use the root vegetables raw or quickly pickled to lend color and crunch to salads, or consider cooking them longer, adding them to soups and stews. We share tips and recipe ideas.
