Ari Plachta was a 2021 intern for the Los Angeles Times’ Sacramento bureau. Previously, she covered education and homelessness as a reporter for the Los Angeles Daily News in the San Fernando Valley, where she grew up. She got her start as an editor at Haaretz newspaper in Tel Aviv and freelance journalist in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories.
