Good morning, and welcome to the TimesOC newsletter. It’s Wednesday, Dec. 9.

Orange County is under a stay-at-home order for at least three weeks due to the surging coronavirus, but many police departments said they won’t enforce the mandates — and some restaurants and businesses said they won’t obey the restrictions.

Businesses are trying to survive during the pandemic, just like people.

Gov. Gavin Newsom said the COVID-19 vaccine is on its way to California. Orange County expects to receive more than 25,000 doses next week.
