Man dies after being struck by car in H.B.
A 69-year-old Huntington Beach man died after being struck by a car Tuesday night on Goldenwest Street between Warner and Slater avenues.
The man was hit at about 7:30 p.m. and died at the scene, according to Lt. Julio Mendez of the Huntington Beach Police Department.
The first officers to arrive found a 2014 Ford Mustang with damage to its front end and the man in the roadway south of Tucana Drive, police said.
“The pedestrian suffered major trauma and succumbed to his injuries,” Sgt. Eric Warken said.
The man’s name had not been released as of Wednesday morning.
The driver of the Mustang stopped at the scene, cooperated with investigators and was not arrested, Mendez said.
The crash remains under investigation, police said.
