An Irvine man has been sentenced to six years in federal prison for pimping and shooting at women in San Bernardino, federal prosecutors said today.

Coby Christopher House, 23, was sentenced Tuesday by U.S. District Judge David O. Carter. House pleaded guilty June 21 to a count of conspiracy to use a facility in interstate commerce in aid of unlawful activity and two counts of unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition by a convicted felon.

While House was on federal supervised release for an alien smuggling conviction in San Diego in October 2019, he pimped two women and shot several times at other prostitutes, who approached two of the women the defendant was pimping, prosecutors said.

House was arrested a day after the Oct. 10, 2019 shooting after he was involved in a 2-mile, high-speed chase with police, prosecutors said.

Co-defendant Olbert Maixmilian Lara, 23, of Riverside, pleaded guilty April 19 to being an accessory after the fact and for being behind the wheel of the car police were chasing when House was arrested, prosecutors said. Lara was sentenced to three years of probation and fined $500.
