Small fire is fifth in Talbert Park this year
Costa Mesa fire officials are investigating the cause of a blaze that burned a small area in Talbert Regional Park late Sunday, according to the department.
Two fire engines responded to the northern part of the park at 11:06 p.m. Sunday, and crews extinguished the 50-square-foot fire within 10 minutes, authorities said.
Sunday’s fire marks the fifth this year in Talbert Park.
Three fires burned about three-tenths of an acre in Talbert and nearby Fairview Park on Jan.15. The next day, a larger, wind-driven fire burned about 3 acres in Talbert Park, fire officials said at the time.
